Since 1990, when Robert C. Bonsib entered private practice, he has devoted a significant portion of his practice to defending individuals, businesses and other entities under federal investigation or charged with criminal offenses in the federal courts. The practice of criminal defense in the federal court system is significantly different from the practice of criminal defense in the state courts.

Not only are there differences in the rules of procedure, but a significant difference also exists in the manner in which federal investigations are conducted. Federal prosecutors also deal with the targets of their investigations differently than state prosecutors.
